A few weeks have now passed since the team returned to Caboose HQ following the Event Production Show, where we launched two new products to much industry intrigue and excitement. The Maverick Hard Deck and the Goose, a portable office, stood in prime position next to the Main Stage, providing a great elevated view of notable panelists such as Matthew Brooke (MD of Spartan UK and Tough Mudder), Phil Bowdery (Executive President of Touring, Live Nation) and James King (CEO, European Festivals, AEG Presents).
Following two days of engaged conversations (albeit through facemasks) and absorbing the sectors’ overall mood via panel talks moderated by Access All Areas, it’s clear there was a very palpable sense of excitement about restrictions being eased as quickly as possible. Event professionals were collectively clamouring to get back to what we all do best – putting on a show and delivering unique ground-breaking hospitality experiences, whether that be for glamping sites, festivals or sporting events. Fast forward to the recently-announced ‘Freedom Day’ delay and the mood is now more of frustration and bitter disappointment to see another stalled summer…
Nevertheless, despite the remaining uncertainty of what is yet to come over the next few months for our events world, the importance of exhibiting and supporting the Event Production Show was not lost on us. It was about standing shoulder to shoulder, sharing common experiences with old colleagues and new connections, plus looking forward to the next season with an unwavering confidence we’ll be able to resume as normal.
Tom spoke to the EPS team about his experiences at the show in a year like no other:
For anyone unable to pop by and see the team at the show, fear not as we’re offering live one-to-one virtual tours of all our products. This includes the Maverick Hard Deck which now comes with an elevated viewing platform atop the glamping pod; plus the Goose – a portable event office, security position or storage facility for use in greenfield sites.
We will demonstrate the products and discuss how they can be tailored and configured to whatever use you have in mind.
